about me

I grew up outdoors. Not literally, of course, I had a great roof over my head, but my skin was always sun-kissed, toes dirty, I was deemed a fish in another life, and my parents came to love (or hide their dislike of) my ever-growing rock and leaf collections. I'd like to think I've refined those collections to dried flowers and greenery, real live plants, and Himalayan salt candle holders (sorry Rob). I moved a little closer to Lake Michigan as I began my journey at Hope College in Holland, MI (just so I could get my toes a little more sandy, of course). I grasped what it was like to be part of a true Christ-like community and truly met myself in the process (hello fellow enneagram type 9's and ENFP's).

Along the way I took some trips, feeding my wanderlust, and while "stuck" on an Amazonian river boat I met a pretty cool guy (hoorah for mission trips). He is a true man of God and I've never felt more blessed or sure of a gift from the Lord. Obviously there's more to that story, so hey, let's grab coffee! I know you have a lifetime to share, too.

Hi there. I never really know how to start off a good introduction but I guess by definition - hey, I'm Kyrian. I'm a michigander, born and raised in Grand Rapids (actually a little town called Ada). Funny how we always seem to say the bigger place assuming nobody will know the quaint little places, but those are my favorite. I've always had an eye for the little things - moments, places, people. I believe everything and everyone has a story to tell, and listening and being able to share their little joys and experiences, making them feel beautiful in a world so big, and grasping a little part of the soul they've come to be stirs the passions in my heart. You are special and you deserve to be known. You've been beautifully and wonderfully made to be you on an earth full of others, and you deserve to be known.

Fast forward a year and he put a ring on it (my finger), and another 8 months and we said our vows, "I do's," and kissed in front of a whole lot of people. He is now the lucky subject of many of my pictures and has done a pretty darn good job at upping my confidence and making me feel like a beautiful daughter of the Lord when it comes to being on the other side of the lens (and in life). When he holds the camera you can usually find me making funny faces or laughing hysterically over one of his jokes. This short journey in marriage thus far has taught me and shaped me and grown me in ways I didn't expect, and I've never felt a love as close to Jesus as now.

I believe every love story has a tale to tell. There are ups and boy there are downs, and there is not one thing that lacks importance. I would love to tell your story, to help you see a little bit more of yourself and your story, and put value on the individuality and wonder of YOU. Whether you are single, dating, engaged, or married, we all have a past and present and a future and each journey is different, and I'd love to be a little part - a few steps - of your adventure.
